Weekend plan and idle dreaming

I should write more lame, cop-out posts.  Yesterday’s post on being out of things to say has had the most reads of any of my posts for a while.  So, this post is another cheap cop-out to meet my NaBloPoMo obligations.

Hey, at least I’m honest.

The weekend’s events include:

  1. Rack KEL’s cider to secondary
  2. Drink some of my ESB to see how it’s coming along
  3. Drink some Ordinary Bitter to see if it’s better as it ages
  4. Check the gravity on the barley wine to see where it is on the fermentation side.

Yesterday I noticed that the entire krausen for the barley wine has fallen, but it is still slowly bubbling.  So I think I’m going to give it a few weeks before touching it.

I need to plan my next beer.  I have some Belgian yeast that I should probably use, and I feel like making another strong, sweet beer.  I wonder how difficult a Quadrupel would be, or some other kind of sweet, old Belgian style ale. Probably pretty difficult

About danmalleck

Medical historian and jack-of-all-trades curmudgeon. I tend to ramble about politics, social incivility, and our self-centred culture more interested in buying the next cool ringtone or LED TV than actively engaging in the sorts of discussions and issues that matter. The more opportunity we have to buy more stuff, the less concern there is, it seems, in politics, social justice and let's face it, basic human decency, unless those things actually can save us money or get us more things to show how awesome we are through displaying our material wealth. And I like to brew beer, make cheese, and put food in jars.
